When it was time to finalize the purchase our home in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, several documents needed to be completed.  One of the documents was a power of attorney (POA), which needed to be legalized and certified with an Apostille.  So, what exactly is an Apostille and how is it used?

After identifying dental and medical services, it was finally time for our eye exams and new glasses.  After checking our trusted resources of Playa.info, we were referred to Optica Gavia.  This provider has been in this location for over 8 years and has been practicing for over 30 years.  He has an excellent reputation among expats and visitors alike.

On our way back from a shopping trip in Cancun, I decided to try a new place to eat lunch.  I had been researching on Trip Advisor and found several places that would meet diverse appetites.  After reading through several reviews, I decided on Café Layla Restaurant and Guest House in Puerto Morelos.

When you eat plant-based, and live in another country, sometimes it can be challenging to find substitute products.  For example, during the holidays, my family and I really enjoy a soy-based turkey substitute, called Tofurky.   Several supermarkets in the United States offer this meat alternative, and therefore, it is readily available.
