HEADSETS - by Jelly Comb

Our experience living in Mexico in an apartment/condo environment is that sound travels between units quite easily.  We sometimes hear our neighbor’s television, so we assume they may hear ours.  Our solution is to use headsets, so our neighbors are not disturbed.  It can also help if your neighbors play loud music, speak loudly, etc. since headsets helps block out the sound.

Grocery Shopping Tips in Mexico

A friend of mine went grocery shopping recently at Chedraui in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. While shopping, she sent me a frantic text message saying she could not find cornstarch.  In addition, she said she didn’t feel comfortable asking anyone at the store for assistance because she didn’t speak Spanish.

Chez Waffle Restaurant – Puerto Aventuras, Mexico

“ALL HAPPINESS DEPENDS ON A LEISURELY BREAKFAST.”  John Gunther

If you are interested in a leisurely yet delicious breakfast, I would recommend giving Chez Waffle a try.  It’s a wonderful little gem and although it’s not located near the other restaurants at the marina, it is well worth your effort to get-up-and-go!  They are open Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and are located on Punta Matzoma Street #33.  Go pass the school and turn left, and go straight to the corner, then turn right.  Chez Waffle is on the right-hand side, almost near the end of the street.

Public Transportation during COVID-19 Pandemic – Quintana Roo, Mexico

It has been sixteen months and counting.  The last time I was on a colectivo (bus) was March 13, 2020.  My husband and I had gone into Playa del Carmen, Mexico to walk up and down the infamous 5th Avenue and to have lunch at 100% Natural.  That weekend will be forever burned into my mind because that is the weekend the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) announced the pandemic that shut down the world...COVID-19.

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION IN MEXICO

One of the primary questions that travelers on Trip Advisor and various social media forums continue to ask are: do they need a prescription to refill their medications while in Mexico?

I decided to reach out to one of the physicians at Hospiten Riviera Maya for an answer.

Liverpool Department Store - Online shopping and delivery service

I want to share my experience with online shopping and delivery services of Liverpool Department Store.  I know I have written a blog post about them in the past, but that was about my in-store experiences, of which I have no complaints.  However, my online shopping experience was very disappointing.

Covid-19 Testing and Results at Cancun Airport

Decided to take a day trip to Miami from Cancun for a fun day of window shopping and lunch at the Aventura Mall.  It was a good change of scenery and an opportunity to experience the process of obtaining my Covid-19 Antigen test and results.

Airline travel during COVID 19 – Quintana Roo, Mexico

We recently had the experience of flying from Mexico to the United States for an essential meeting.  Trust me when I tell you we did not want to go.  The thoughts of flying during a world-wide pandemic was not at the top of our list of things to do.  Nevertheless, we cautiously prepared. This blog post is about our experience flying from the Cancun airport in Mexico, on JetBlue airlines; our destination is not important and has been intentionally left out of this blog.
