Ventura Park – Amusement and Water Park in Cancun, Mexico

Ventura Park – Amusement and Water Park in Cancun, Mexico is fun for everyone. Although the park is small, it is BIG on fun.  Their primary focus is on water features with water slides and wave pools. You can also rent their large and colorful inner tubes to make your water adventures even more fun.

But if you are not into water…don’t worry, Ventura Park has got you covered.  There are a few rides, go-karts, ziplines, virtual attractions, restaurants, bars, and a gift shop.

We really enjoy ourselves every time we go to the park and have a
fondness for their zipline and go-karts.
You can learn more about zipline from the Assocation for Challenge Course Technology and the Professional Ropes Course Association.

At both the go-kart and zipline station, you will be asked to fill out and sign a park disclaimer.  The disclaimers are in English and Spanish, ensuring that visitors are aware of any risk.  The disclaimer asks for basic information and only takes a minute to complete.  Once completed, the operators will place a mark on your wristband indicating that you have already completed the form.  This mark means that when you ride that attraction again, you will not have to complete another disclaimer.  Now all you need to do is have fun!

After several laps on the go-karts and ziplines, we decided to walk around and check out the park.  We had our buffet lunch at the Sunrise food court (cost included in the price of the ticket) and ice cream at the Ice Cream Bar, for an additional cost. Just a quick note about the Sunrise food court.  It is a very casual and relaxed environment, with a varied menu (my husband had a hamburger and fries, and I had a pasta dish).  There are other restaurants at the Park, but some are only open during high-season.

In terms of ticket prices, we always buy the Ventura Unlimited package in advance and benefit from the 50% discount.  But check their website often for specials and purchase the ticket that best meets your needs. What’s neat is that they allow you to cancel or change dates, with minimum to no penalty. Just make sure to check their website for details.

In terms of getting to the park from Cancun, if you are not driving, they do have a special (free) bus that leaves different locations (mornings only), and leaves the park, headed back when the park closes at 5:30 p.m. We take the colectivo from Puerto Aventuras to Playa del Carmen, and then the Cancun colectivo or Playa Express to Cancun, then a short taxi-ride to Ventura Park.

In terms of your stuff (I normally carry the kitchen sink whenever I go out, filled with mosquito wipes, sunblock, extra flip-flops,
mini-umbrella, bottled water, etc…my stuff); for a fee, they do have different size lockers (small, medium and large).  So, there is no need for you to drag your stuff around the park.

Now the only thing left for you to do is go and have fun with ZIP, SPLASH AND ZOOM!!!
