If you’re headed into Playa del Carmen, Mexico to shop at your nearby Sam’s Club, City Club, Centro Maya shopping center or any of the shops in the area, don’t forget to eat a good breakfast. Yes, I know you can always grab something quick at the food court in Centro Maya, but why not treat yourself to a nice patio breakfast at the Casa Rivieras Restaurant, nestled in a little strip mall between Sam’s Club and Hospiten Hospital.
That’s exactly how we found this little gem. We wanted to get our shopping done at Sam’s Club early, so we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast. We weren’t exactly sure where but thought we would cross that bridge when we got there. We stopped at a very popular bistro with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Due to our continued concerns about COVID-19, we opted to have breakfast outside under a shaded umbrella.
Our waiter was prompt and professional. After providing us with a QR code menu placard (in English) we selected our items, relaxed and enjoyed our breakfast. The prices are comparative to other local restaurants, but what we were impressed with was their outdoor furniture and table settings. It was not the typical plastic table and chair situation, but nice furniture that is warm and welcoming. And their table setting was something we would certainly use in our home.
In closing, we would encourage you to try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. 😊
