In spite of the fact that we live in one of the most
beautiful places in the western Caribbean, everyday
cannot be a beach day. So we've created
a list of the top 10 things to do in P-L-A-Y-A-D-I-S-E while we’re waiting for the sun to come back
out. ENJOY!
1. Go to the movies. Cinemex in the Centro Maya mall is a full-service theatre with several movies in English with Spanish sub-titles; plus, it’s cheap! Two adult tickets are around 72 pesos, add a large bottle water and box of popcorn (half caramel & half yellow corn) for around 86 pesos and you can go often. In addition, depending on the time of year you go, tickets
are 2 for 1. It’s a must do whether it’s raining or not.
2. Go to the local library. The Leona Vicario Library is located on Avenida Benito Juarez and 20th Ave, inside the park with the same name. With a large collection of books, both residents and tourists enjoy this venue.
4. Go bowling. Planet Bowl and Entertainment Center is all
about family, friends and fun. With
bowling alleys, pool tables, skee ball and more, you’ll forget all about the
rain.
7. Go to the Mall. Walking around the mall is a fun way to window shop for next season’s hottest swimsuit, people watch, and get in some exercise without even breaking a sweat. Playa del Carmen has two malls: Centro Maya Mall and Plaza Las Americas Mall.
9. Review a restaurant on TripAdvisor. You know all the restaurants you've been going to and taking all those photos of your food and drinks? Now is the time to use them. It’s quick, easy, and a great way to share your culinary experiences with others.
10. Finally, clean your house. When was the last time you really cleaned your home? Get out that bucket and don those long rubber gloves. It’s time to give your house a good scrubbing. And just to help you out, here is a link that talks about getting rid of mold and mildew.
